Please find link to the Pay Policy guidance a summary of the changes that been made to this year’s pay policy  here.

The changes undertaken have been to simplify and shorten the document, based on previous feedback, however, we have continued to include historical decisions that have been undertaken, to help support your pay decisions for 20-21. We have followed the Governments Advisory Pay Points as outlined in STRB, the Advisory Points are weighted with 5.5% to M1, we believe this is in line with the Government’s plan to move a teachers’ starting salary to £30,000 by 2022. It is anticipated that these recommendations amount to an ‘average’ increase of 3.1% in the overall teaching pay bill for 2020/21 depending on each individuals School structure. Although we have included Pay Points for 6a and 6b, we would point out that only 4 Schools have opted for 6a and we would ask those Schools to consider moving their M6 teachers to 6b. The reason for the options is historical and based on decisions made as follows:- If your school applied the 2% increase to the MPR maximum value in your 2015-16 pay policy, you need to use M6b in subsequent editions of your pay policy. If, however, you applied a 1% increase to the MPR maximum value in your 2015-16 pay policy, you need to use M6a in subsequent editions of your pay policy.
